193rd Annual Communication

Brethren:
The 193rd Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Missouri will be held in Columbia on September 29 and 30, 2014. The venue for this year’s Communication is once again the Holiday Inn Executive Center, 2200 I-70 Drive SW, Columbia, Missouri 65201. Registration begins at 10:00 AM on Sunday, September 28, in the Atrium area of the hotel. The formal opening of the 193rd Annual Communication takes place on Monday, September 29 at 9:00 AM in the Expo Center.

Representation of each Lodge is required by the Constitution and By-Laws. Lodges will receive detailed information regarding registration and voting in the upcoming weeks. Your representation and vote are important to your Grand Lodge! Once again, the scanning of your barcoded dues card will register your attendance and voting rights for the session. All attendees should present their valid dues cards to the Credentials Committee during registration hours.

We look forward to seeing our Brethren, our friends, and our Distinguished Guests in Columbia in September.

More light in Freemasonry with LAMP!

Introducing the Learning About Masonry Program (LAMP)! LAMP is an online education presentation tool that presents courses about various aspects of Freemasonry in Missouri.

To access LAMP, you must have already have already enrolled on the my.momason.org membership portal. The same email and password used there is used to sign onto LAMP at lamp.momason.org.

Courses consist of individual lessons that present information about specific parts of the topic of the course. There is also a quiz at the end of each course, to give you feedback on how well you understood the information. You must score 80% on the quiz to complete the course. If you don't score that high, you can go back, review the information in the lessons, and attempt the quiz again. Successfully completing the course awards you an achievement badge, specific to the course.

The first course "The Entered Apprentice" in the course group "The Degrees" is open to all Masons who are eligible to log in. There is also a guest code for EA's who have not been entered into the Grand Lodge Membership System, which controls the log in access, to take the first course, up to taking the completion quiz.

Completing "The Entered Apprentice" course will give you a code so that you can access the next course, "The Fellowcraft". Completing "The Fellowcraft" course will give you a code to enroll in "The Master Mason" course.

All other courses are open to all members. Current topics include:

  • The Officers -> Individual courses for each officer of the lodge detailing his duties and ideas for responsibilities
  • Leadership -> Techniques and ideas on how to become a better leader
  • Planning -> Techniques and ideas on how to plan the course & future of your lodge

There will be more courses coming soon! Try it out and learn something new today!
